Meet Our Friends In The Community Of Groveland

We love our community.  Please explore the town and enjoy our friends at these local small businesses.

(Check here often for deals we have made with our neighbors in order to save you time and money.)

The Trailhead

The Trailhead is the area in front of the shop that we have set aside for gathering.  We share it with our neighbors and gladly share it with you.  Whether you are meeting a group of friends or just having a cup of coffee, please use it respectfully and pop in to the shop for a greeting from John Muir (below).

Around the Horn Brewing

Around The Horn Brewing Company was mused about in 2012, envisioned in 2014, founded in 2017, and finally brought to life in 2020. The brainchild of Andrew Sabatine, Rachel Sabatine, and Shirley Horn, it's the intersection of the trio's love of craft beer and their love of the beautiful California Sierras.

The Ale Less Traveled is a bike ride IPA with Mosaic and El Dorado.  It is a collaboration with Trail Less Traveled Bike and Gear and is available locally at Around the Horn.

Top of the Trail Tea & Coffee

Top of the Trail Tea & Coffee

Top of the Trail Tea & Coffee is our next door neighbor and is currently being remodeled.  They provide custom-roasted coffee beans, loose-leaf teas, freshly made cinnamon rolls, and other tasty muffins and pastries. Their baristas will be happy to make you a variety of espresso drinks, loose-leaf tea and chai lattes, blended frappes, smoothies, Italian and french sodas, breakfast bagels, and more.  Pick up a cup or a snack and use the Trailhead area in front of the shop for outdoor seating.  The website is coming soon.  Keep track of them on their FB page.

Iron Door Saloon

Iron Door Saloon

The Iron Door Saloon is another one of our close neighbors. According to its proprietors, it is the oldest continuously operating saloon in California. It remains a popular tourist stop on the main road between The Bay Area and Yosemite.  They have live music most every weekend with a great variety of groups and styles, with dancing a favorite activity.  ThevStaff is knowledgeable of the local campgrounds, the hotels and motels, in the area, along with hikes and trails, rivers and lakes that should not be missed if you are to get the full experience of these beautiful mountains.

Echo Adventure Cooperative

Echo Adventure Cooperative

Echo Adventure Cooperative is a worker-owned cooperative offering socially and environmentally sustainable guided adventures, vacation packages and travel experiences in Yosemite National Park and throughout the Sierra. Echo was founded in 2016 with the purpose of prioritizing quality guest experiences, member empowerment, environmental sustainability, and community development over profits.  You can rent mountain bikes from them from their bike rental page on our website.

Miller's Off Road Adventures

Miller's Off Road Adventures

Here is another way for you to explore the area by visiting another one of our local favorites.  For most visitors, your time to experience our back country is limited. With just a few hours to spare, why not journey away from the crowds and into your own off road Jeep adventure! Experience your tour with Miller's Off Road Adventures in a four door 4x4 Jeep Wrangler.
